বরিশাল মহানগর শ্রমিক লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক রইচ আহমেদ মান্নার ওপর গুলিবর্ষণ চেষ্টার অভিযোগে সিটি করপোরেশনের ২নম্বর ওয়ার্ড কাউন্সিলর ও জাতীয় পার্টির নেতা গোলাম মর্তুজা আবেদীনকে আটক করা হয়েছে।
রবিবার (৩ সেপ্টেম্বর) দুপুর ১২টার দিকে নগরীর পোর্ট রোড এলাকায় এ ঘটনা ঘটে।
ঘটনাস্থলে উপস্থিত প্রত্যক্ষদর্শীরা জানান, রইচ আহমেদ মান্নাকে দেখে কাউন্সিলর মর্তুজা আবেদীন পিস্তল বের করেন। মান্না ও তার লোকজন বিষয়টি টের পেয়ে মর্তুজা আবেদীনকে জাপটে ধরেন। এসময় মান্নাকে বলতে শোনা যায়, আমাকে গুলি করতে পিস্তল বের করছে। ওর হাত থেকে পিস্তল নেন। তখন ঘটনাস্থলে উপস্থিত এক পুলিশ সদস্য ও স্থানীয়র জনতা তার হাত থেকে পিস্তল নিয়ে গেলে মর্তুজাকে বলতে শোনা যায়, আমার লাইসেন্স করা পিস্তল।
কোতোয়ালি মডেল থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) আনোয়ার হোসেন বলেন, তাকে থানায় আনা হয়েছে। আসলে কী ঘটেছিলো বিষয়টি যাচাই-বাছাই করে দেখা হচ্ছে।
