রানওয়ের লাইটিং ব্যবস্থা সংস্কারকাজের জন্য হজরত শাহজালাল আন্তর্জাতিক বিমানবন্দরে দুই মাস রাতে ৫ ঘণ্টা বিমান চলাচল বন্ধ থাকবে। এ সময় কুয়াশার কারণে ফ্লাইট চলাচলে বিঘ্ন ঘটে। এ কারণে লাইটিং ব্যবস্থার সংস্কারকাজের জন্য এ সময়কে বেছে নেয়া হয়েছে।
বৃহস্পতিবার (২ ফেব্রুয়ারি) দিবাগত রাত ২টা থেকে এ কাজ শুরু হবে। প্রতিদিন রাত ২টা থেকে সকাল ৭টা পর্যন্ত বিমান চলাচল বন্ধ থাকবে। এই সময়ের ফ্লাইটগুলোকে দিনের অন্য সময়ে স্থানান্তর করা হয়েছে।
সাধারণত রাত ২টা থেকে সকাল ৭টা পর্যন্ত সাত-আটটি ফ্লাইট চলাচল করে। সেগুলো এখন দিনের অন্য সময়ে স্থানান্তর করায় বিমানবন্দরে বাড়তি চাপ তৈরি হবে। এই চাপ সামলাতে বিমানবন্দরের বিভিন্ন সংস্থার সঙ্গে সমন্বয় করার নির্দেশনা দিয়েছে বিমানবন্দর কর্তৃপক্ষ, যাতে যাত্রীদের দীর্ঘ সময় বিমানবন্দরে আটকে থাকতে না হয়। একই সঙ্গে ট্রলিসহ অন্যান্য সুবিধা পেতে পারেন যাত্রীরা।
হজরত শাহজালাল আন্তর্জাতিক বিমানবন্দরের নির্বাহী পরিচালক গ্রুপ ক্যাপ্টেন মোহাম্মদ কামরুল ইসলাম বলেন, বিমানবন্দরের রানওয়ের লাইটিং ব্যবস্থা সংস্কারকাজ শুরু হবে। এ জন্য ২ ফেব্রুয়ারি থেকে দুই মাস রাত ২টা থেকে সকাল ৭টা পর্যন্ত বিমানবন্দরে বিমান চলাচল বন্ধ থাকবে। এমনিতেও এ সময় কুয়াশার কারণে ফ্লাইট চলাচলে বিঘ্ন ঘটে। এ কারণে লাইটিং ব্যবস্থা সংস্কারকাজের জন্য এ সময়কে বেছে নেয়া হয়েছে।
তিনি আরো বলেন, এই সময়ে সাত-আটটি ফ্লাইট চলাচল করতো। সেগুলোকে দিনের অন্যান্য সময়ে স্থানান্তর করা হয়েছে। বিমানবন্দর কর্তৃপক্ষ সাময়িক এই চাপ ও অসুবিধার জন্য যাত্রীদের কাছে দুঃখ প্রকাশ করছে।
এদিকে ঢাকা, চট্টগ্রাম সিলেট ও কক্সবাজার বিমানবন্দরে ইনস্ট্রুমেন্ট ল্যান্ডিং সিস্টেম (আইএলএস) ক্যাটাগরি-২-এ উন্নীত করার উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে বেসামরিক বিমান চলাচল কর্তৃপক্ষ (বেবিচক)। ইতোমধ্যে সিলেট বিমানবন্দরের কাজ শেষ হয়েছে। চট্টগ্রামের কাজ শেষ হবে আগামী বছরের শেষের দিকে। ঢাকায় হজরত শাহজালাল আন্তর্জাতিক বিমানবন্দরে শেষ হবে তিন মাসের মধ্যে। এর যন্ত্রপাতিও চলে এসেছে। একই সঙ্গে লাইটিং ব্যবস্থারও উন্নয়ন করা হচ্ছে।
এয়ারলাইন-সংশ্লিষ্টরা বলছেন, সেসব যাত্রীর এ সময়ে ফ্লাইট আছে, তারা সরাসরি এয়ারলাইন অথবা এজেন্সি থেকে ফ্লাইটের পরিবর্তিত শিডিউল জেনে নিতে পারবেন। এ সময়ে যেসব ফ্লাইটের সময় পরিবর্তন ঘটছে, যাত্রীদের সেই তথ্য জানিয়ে দিচ্ছে এয়ারলাইনগুলো। কিন্তু জটিলতা হচ্ছে, বেশির ভাগ প্রবাসী টিকিট কাটার সময় নিজের ফোন নম্বর, ইমেল ঠিকানা দেন না।
আবার ট্রাভেল এজেন্সিগুলোও যাত্রীর তথ্য না দিয়ে নিজেদের ফোন ও ইমেইল দিয়ে টিকিট ইস্যু করে। ফলে এয়ারলাইনের পক্ষ থেকে ফোন করলে আর যাত্রীকে পাওয়া যায় না। তখন যাত্রী অভিযোগ করে বলেন, এয়ারলাইন তাকে কিছু জানায়নি। যাত্রীরা টিকিট কাটর সময় নিজের ফোন ও ইমেইল দিয়ে টিকিট ইস্যু করলে সব ধরনের আপডেট তথ্য তিনি সরাসরি পাবেন।
